Here is the very last colored page -- the colored cover to The Coming of the Liberty Brigade - pencils by Mike Lilly, inks by Bob Almond and colors by the great Chris Sotomayor.

We hope to be printing in August -- we remain on track.  Hopefully, printing even sooner!

Thought you all might like to see the cover to The Coming of the Liberty Brigade - this is one of the free books - being inked now and then we'll be able to move this one along -- this was the last page we needed and we think it is worth the wait!  Mike did a fabulous homage to Rich Buckler's All-Star Squadron #1 cover...

Short Update
almost 3 years ago – Sun, May 02, 2021 at 04:02:53 AM

We remain on track to get the THE LIBERTY BRIGADE books in your hands this Summer!!!!!

We've checked and fixed all colors; Mark Waid has edited every page; Lettering Team is now putting in all the lettering changes; we'll then proof and then send to the printer for the printer proof -- review that and then GOTO PRESS.

Our two bonus books - Mike Lilly is finishing the cover and Geraldo Borges is finishing two more pages we added -- none of this will impact printing -- these books will wrap in May and goto printer alongside the graphic novel.

THIS SUMMER - you should have all of these books in your hands!!!!

Little trivia contest - anyone recognize this Golden Age character -- hint- she may be American but her adventures took her all over the world!  PENCILS by Ramona Fradon (at 95 years old!!!!) and Bob Almond inks.

Just where is The Liberty Brigade --
about 3 years ago – Wed, Mar 24, 2021 at 12:56:45 AM

I want to thank everyone for your complete patience with us as we go about finishing the set of books comprising this graphic novel and opening tale of the Liberty Brigade.  We are awful late and just cannot say "thank you" enough for you, the loyal backers for your patience and continued support -- here is where we are:

1.  The Graphic Novel - the was solicited as an 80 page story and is now clocking in at 112 pages.  Every single page has been penciled, inked and colored.  We are just working on some patch panels and recoloring and finalizing the dialogue.

2.  Heroes Origins - this was going to be 20 pages in the graphic novel BUT instead, as we said before, it is now a separate comic book that has doubled in size and is 40 pages cover to cover.  The copies are all printed and here onsite.

3.  The #0 Issue - printed by Ka-Blam and here onsite.

4.  The Source File comic - printed and here onsite.

5.  The Villains origin (regular plus variant covers) - this is an additional purchase and is printed and here onsite.

So, in addition to the extra 50 pages of art/story, we also added 3 more "thank you's" for your amazing patience and they are:

a) The Barry Kitson print - this is printed and here onsite.

b) The Liberty Brigade:  Lost Scenes.  This 10 page comic book features art by DC artist Geraldo Borges and has been penciled, inked, lettered and colored and awaits printing.  We've been putting up some of the interior pin-up pages for you all to see.

c) The Coming of the Liberty Brigade - this will be 6-8 pages by artist Mike Lilly.  The last page is being inked by Bob Almond and Mike is working on the cover.   We are not too far away from completion.

So, we are up to about 70 extra pages which we think round out and make the story everything we want it to be and everything we owe to you-- our most patient backers.  And, yes, we should have stopped adding things and just finished everything but we really wanted a phenomenal story for everybody and I think you are going to see we've poured ourselves into every page.

Last, everyone should have this on/before Labor Day.  I know it that is a few months away but we need to wrap up the two books (color/print) and then get the graphic novel fully lettered.  We actually should beat this date but we put in a little wiggle room.  Darrin and the whole team are in finalization mode as we move to wrap up the final 2 free books and get them and the graphic novel to the printer.     Please give us this time as we are nearly there and are working to get this finished and finalized.

March Update - Progress Continues
about 3 years ago – Sun, Feb 28, 2021 at 09:58:53 PM

Lots going on here at Brigade HQ --

- On the main Graphic Novel with over 100 pages, we are adding some patch panels here and there to help the actions/story flow -- an example is below where Barry Kitson has done a new panel for us.   Dialogue is continuing and then off to Mark Waid for edits.  The FREE "LOST SCENES" Book has been penciled, inked, colored and dialogued and we await one more page of colors we need to send to colorist Chris Ivy before the book goes off for lettering and then the printer - should have it in the last page in hand within 2 weeks and off to the printer in March.  The free COMING OF THE LIBERTY BRIGADE by Mike Lilly - Mike has a single interior page to pencil and then the cover as well; Bob Almond is ready to ink and Chris Sotomayor has colored all the completed pages already.

Below some artwork as we move as quickly as we can to wrap things up on it and we hope to get it to the printer in April.  We are hoping and working to see if we can get the graphic novel to the printer at the same time.

Liberty Brigade 62 - patch panel to be colored
From THE LOST SCENES - pencils/inks Geraldo Borges; Colors Chris Ivy
From Coming of the Liberty Brigade - pencils Mike Lilly; inks Bob Almond; Colors by Chris Sotomayor
