More pages and a splash to show off
over 4 years ago – Sun, Oct 06, 2019 at 07:26:48 PM

Just keeping all of you in the loop -- Barry has been crafting one glorious page after another and just finished one with over 50 characters -- poor Mick Gray --

Here is a splash page near the end of the book -- thought you might enjoy seeing this.

Barry Kitson and Mick Gray

Everybody is working away to wrap the book up and I think everyone is going to be very happy with the end product - I'll keep showing off some art along the way -- for example, here is a panel from Ron and Joe --

Ron Frenz and Joe Rubinstein

PDFs on the way
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 30, 2019 at 01:04:44 AM

Thank you all for your incredible patience -- we are going to start rolling out some of the .pdfs so people don't have to keep waiting while we continue to finish the books -- our schedule looks like this:

October 15 - The Liberty Brigade #0.  Here is the cover.

Barry Kitson - Liberty Brigade Zero

October 30 - The Liberty Brigade Encyclopedia should be ready -- we have 2 pages left and then we just need to get the .pdf organized.

November 15 - The Liberty Brigade - Villains Files - we await a single page and then this is complete.  Here are 3 covers to this book.

Ramano Molenaar - Regular Cover
Sal Buscema Variant Cover
Mike Perkins Cover

We'll release the Heroes origin and the main book at the same time when we release the hard copies -- our hope is that these 3 .pdfs will allow you to see the amazing quality and all the hard work that has gone into it.

Free pdf story - this will likely come out in January but we'll be showing off the covers in our next update.

Again, sorry for the delays BUT we continue to add pages -- I know, just finish the book you must be saying BUT when we looked at certain parts, we felt additional pages were necessary -- so more Kitson art, more Frenz art and more great pages.  Barry has thumbnailed out the last 20 pages and is now penciling them -- that ends the book and our team is working on all the other pages in the meantime.

We really are almost there and I apologize for the delays and can only say it was because everyone felt the story just needed more pages to breathe - no extra cost to anyone for it.

Preview art from bonus story - "Girls Night Out" + Missing Pages
over 4 years ago – Sat, Sep 14, 2019 at 02:27:47 AM

First - 5 pages of The book's pencils by Ron Frenz were "lost" at the Toronto comic-con so if you see them somewhere, let me know as there is a reward.  We have the scans so the pages are being inked blue-lined.  And, no, it wasn't Ron that did the losing.  If you see some great Ron Frenz pages featuring the 1940s characters, let me know as we'd love to get them back if some good samaritan found them.

Second, progress continues and here is the layout for the opening page to Girls Night Out, one of the bonus stories in the book -- -- pencils are by Garrie Gastonny -- hope you all like it --

Big update - shipping, art, etc.
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 02, 2019 at 03:08:20 AM

Thank you all for your continued patience as we work to make The Liberty Brigade the best possible work that it can be -- I wanted to give everyone an update on where we are but first a few sneak peaks.

Below are some tiny pictures of some of the pages so you can get a sense of how much detail we are getting from Ron Frenz, Barry Kitson and the other artists working on the book -- these are some colored pages by Chris Sotomayor.

Second - I'm going to disappoint some of you with the news that we are  moving the shipping date to December 2019 as we want to be 100% confident we will make that date and want you to KNOW it -- there is no doubt here that we will MAKE the December 2019 date -- here is where things stand.

The Encyclopedia is complete and finished,

The Villains origin - we deleted an Ad page and are replacing it with a gorgeous origin page by Reilly Brown of The Aryan Hyena.  It is being inked now but we want to show off the pencils.

Reilly Brown - Origin of the Aryan Hyena

The Heroes Origins - we are waiting on one artist but are adding some others so we can move this book to print if we can't secure the pages from the original artist.  We also added an opening/closing page as we thought that it made the story run better.  Another sneak preview -- here is the origin of Icarion by Keith Giffen and inker Michelle Delecki.

The Liberty Brigade Graphic Novel - Ron Frenz finished and we await 5 pages of inks from Joe Rubinstein who should have them by the middle of the month.  Likewise, Barry Kitson and Mick Gray hope to complete all of their page by the end of September so we should be in the coloring/lettering mode come mid-October.

The free .pdf story - this story is over 25 pages and I think everyone will be very happy with it.  Thought we'd show off one of the two pieces for this story by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer.

Rainbow Boy by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer

Again, my complete apologies for running so late -- I can only say that want this to be an amazing book and that we have top talent producing at top levels so I do hope that you'll love it.

Short update --
over 4 years ago – Wed, Aug 07, 2019 at 02:09:37 AM

Thank you all for your incredible patience -- the book continues to roll along -- Ron Frenz has turned in his pages and they are all being inked by Joe Rubinstein right now -- Barry is pushing forward on his but Mr. Kitson has some massive pages filled to the brim with characters -- take at look at this 1/3 splash from Barry and you will see how much quality he is poring into every page --

On other news, we are finally getting ready to goto print on two of the books and ought to have them both at the printer by the end of August which then leaves us focused solely on the 100+ page graphic novel -- I've been showing off art for months now so I hope/trust you see how it is coming together.

Also, as promised, we have the free online .pdf story being worked on as well.  Joe has been working on those between pages and once he finishes Ron's final pages, he turn to ink that story.

Hope you like the art from Barry and Mick Gray --
